Emergency theres a hummingbird nest outside my tree mother hasn’t returned for a full day!?

now yesterday i was trying to clean up my porch area, at my condo . and i cut a bunch of branches off because the tree is growing under a balcony right above me and when i cut some more branches i found a humming bird nest, i got ribbon and secured the nest a little better like i do with other humming bird nests, and bought a humming bird feeder. But ever since i found it i have been checking up on it over and over and not once did i see the mother at the nest, there are two tiny eggs in the nest. and i don’t know if something happened to her. how long should i wait till i take the nest down and take to the la arboretum,
AND is there a place specifically for humming birds.
i am aware of the law of taking down a nest of a migrating bird,
i would also like to know if they could come and take ti for me instead since you have to have a permit.

please help me T^T
i never touched the nest and the branch that she layered the eggs on was never touched but normally i see her often just never knew she had a nest i haven’t seen her for at least 4 days because i wasn’t paying attention…

The mother is not coming back, that is for sure. You would have to take the nest to the la arbotetum as soon as possible. Accidents happen so just make sure you explain that it was an accident. Go ASAP

Anything could have happened to her, its best to just leave the nest alone, nature is cruel but not every egg is destined to hatch. If the eggs have been cold for a day they are probably dead anyway.

I say, if you have an aviary, take it there ASAP. If you think it’s been too cold or too long, just leave it.
