A little hummingbird built a nest on top of a string of lights on my neighbors porch?

my neighbors are moving today, so we asked the property manager if we could keep the lights up there until the birdies hatch and she said no!!! I didnt want them to tear the nest down so we moved the string of lights with the nest to my porch( which is right next door) we made sure not to touch the nest. We even moved my friends windchimes over so it would look exactly like her porch. Hummy( as we named our little bird) was flying around my friends porch looking for her nest, but she hasnt found it on my porch yet. I even bought a hummingbird feeder and put it on my porch. I am very sad for this little bird and I only did what I could because the alternative would be the property manager ripping it down. Is there anything else I could do to help her find her nest. there are two little eggs in it… thank you from the bottom of my heart…

Sounds like you did all you could, but I doubt it will help. If it isn’t where she put it, it isn’t her nest. Sorry. But good for you for trying.

  • Will the hummingbird return to her nest? The hummingbird made a nest on our porch and has been seen there constantly for 2 weeks. Tonight, however, someone approached the nest at night and scared the bird away. I checked couple of times since and did not see her returned. What’s going to happen with the eggs? Is the nest destroyed? Please
